Awards for marrying single mums

Wan Ubaidah...said marrying single mothers could help assemblymen meet their 'quotas'
Kelantan state executive councillor Wan Ubaidah Omar has proposed special awards for male elected representatives in the state who marry single mothers as a solution to their rising numbers.
However, she did not specify the kind of awards that they rightly deserve.
Wan Ubaidah said marrying single mothers, especially those who had young chidren to care for was another means of them meeting their "quota" of four wives under Islamic law.
Backbenchers who were amused by her remarks during the Kelantan assembly sitting Wednesday thumped their palms on the table in expressing support.
Wan Ubaidah, who heads the State Women Family and Health Committee had earlier been asked by Tawang assemblyman Hassan Mahmood about what was being done to reduce the number of divorce cases and help single mothers.
She told the assembly that there were currently 16,500 registered single mothers below 60 in the state.
Wan Ubaidah lamented that many of them faced hardships as they could not register with the Welfare Department or other agencies for aid because their husbands had left them without filing any divorce papers.
She said such irresponsible husbands should be whipped as a punishment, as suggested by Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Nik Mat.

how else would the woman face the society.. where is her self-dignity and honour.. you should love a woman sincerely and not reward the man just because he is willing to marry the single mother.
